Born in Germany in Rotenburg an der Fulda, Sebastian Schick starts his studies at the age of 16 in Kassel. In 1983, he joins the Rainer Zepperitz’s class at the Universität der Künste in Berlin.
He is then in relation with the Karajan Foundation, where he works for two years with the Berliner Philarmoniker.
In 1991, he joins the Klaus Stoll’s class in Salzburg and the Franco Petracchi’s in Geneva. 
In 1996, Sebastian Schick gets a first prize of virtuosity in Geneva.
In 1991 he enters the munich symphoniker. Since 1992, he is the second doublebass solo at the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne.
He often plays with different formation, especially in chamber music. Since 2010 he plays on a viole-doublebass that makes him able to play with different ancient ensembles.
