Born in geneva in 1998, Donatien Bachmann begins his bassoon’s studies at the age of 8 in the A. Baehler’s class at the Geneva conservatory. He joins the “Filière Intensive” in 2010 and the preprofessional’s class of the Geneva’s conservatory in 2012.
He’s actually in the Afonso Venturieri’s class at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Genève.
He studies the baroque repertoire with Maestro Lorenzo Alpert and takes masterclasses with different teachers, like Ole Dahl, Kim Walker, Laurent Lefèvre or Matthias Racz.
Winner at several times of the Concours Suisse de Musique pour la Jeunesse, this made him able to incorporate the Ruth und Ernst Burkhalter Foundation and to play as a soloist for a tour with the ö orchestra in 2017.
Very active in chamber music, Donatien often plays with several formations. He was a part of the Verbier Festival Orchestra for three years.
