Born in 1991, Damien Bachmann is a swiss clarinetist.
He studied in Geneva, Lucerne and Helsinki and he’s currently studying at the Musikhochschule in Basel with François Benda.
Damien Bachmann is prize winner in several national and international competitions in Romania, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Italy, Hungary. He won the 1st prize and two special prizes at the « 15th International Gheorghe Dima Clarinet Competition ».
He played as soloist with the Transylvania Philharmonic Orchestra, the Zürcher Kammerorchester, the Argovia Philarmonic, the Orchestre de la Haute cole de Lausanne. He performed in Germany, France, Italy, Czech Republic, South Africa, Finland, Romania, Switzerland, China and Hungary. He’s constantly invited to perform in Festivals like the „Schubertiade d’Espace2“.
He’s supported by the „Friedl-Wald“ Foundation, the « Marescotti » Foundation and the city of Carouge. He’s first prize winner 2014 of the Evamaria Schenk Foundation from Zofingen. He won the highest chamber music prize of the Dienemann Music Competition in Lucerne and the 1st prize of the « BOG » foundation in Basel.
