Darryl Bachmann is born in Geneva in 1997 and began viola at the age of six in Geneva Conservatory with Laurent Rochat. In 2010, he started to study with Noémie Bialobroda and in 2012 he entered the “Filière préprofessionnelle” in Geneva Conservatory. Since September 2016, he is studying with professor Alexander Zemtsov in the HEMU Lausanne.
Darryl also worked in Cervo Sommerakademie, Academie de Morges and Academie de Sion Tibor Varga. He had several opportunities to work with famous professors as Jean Sulem, Lars Anders Tomter, Nobuko Imai and Garth Knox.
He won the First Price at the “Schweizerischer Jungendmusikwettbewerb” in 2016 and since then he is supported by the “Stiftung Ernst und Ruth Burkhalter”.
Darryl played in Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra 2013-2014 under the direction of various conductors such as Daniel Harding, Dima Slobodeniouck, Jesus Lopez Cobos, and James Gaffigan.
